Cultivating a Math Coaching Practice (CMCP)
Cultivating a Math Coaching Practice (CMCP) is a professional development curriculum designed to help coaches and coach leaders define the math coaching role and the implications of this role for teacher learning. CMCP is based on significant themes of coach cases and conjectures of a trajectory of coaching development from a collection of several hundred coach-authored cases and piloted case work. The CMCP materials support coaches as they move from building relationships and fostering collaborations to focusing on their role as a teacher of teachers and using their authority to set the agenda with teachers to work on mathematics and student thinking.
